SARA'S ASTROLOGICAL REPORT FOR AUGUST
The Sun is in Leo the first part of August. Leo is ruled by the sun. And like the sun Leo people need to shine and be the center of attention. They are usually leaders enthusiastic, generous, kind, and creative. They thrive on praise. The more they are praised, the better they become. No sign does well with criticism, but Leo will wilt and die inside more than any other sign. Negative they are pompous, arrogant, patronizing, dogmatic. Give a Leo love and they will give love back. They usually make good parents. Leo ruled the heart and the spine.
The Sun goes into Virgo on Tuesday the 22nd at 4.21 pm Denver time.
The Full Moon is on Monday the 7th at 12.11 pm in Aquarius. This will be a Lunar eclipse. This would be a great time to think about starting some sort of volunteering. Aquarius is concerned with social welfare and improving the world. People may feel a need to break free of constraints and want to do something unconventional.
The New Moon is on Monday the 21st at 12.30 pm in Leo. This will be a 90% Solar Eclipse here in Denver. This would be a good one to check where it is in your chart. It could have effects that can last a long time. Leo is a social time. People will need to be recognized and appreciated. ( I am going to a city with a giant party/festival happening!) Plan a party and don't forget your eclipse glasses even for a 90%
MERCURY RETROGRADE Of course I am halfway through sending my newsletter when I realize I have forgotten or not noticed Mercury is going retrograde in August. I really think I have a block from noticing!!!!! So it will be retrograde during the eclipse! It will be in Virgo going back to Leo. So Virgo's will be the most effected. Leo's the second most. Virgo is a detailed oriented sign. So while paying attention to details, don't overlook the broader picture. If something isn't working no matter how hard you try, step back, take a nap, sleep on it etc. This is not a good time to sign contracts, but if you must, get all in writing and check very carefully. Electronics can go wonky.
Saturn went retrograde on the April 5th. It will be in Sagittarius until August 25th. It does touch back into Scorpio for a bit and then goes back to Sagittarius. It then leaves Scorpio alone for another 29 years. This is a time of lessons, depending on where Saturn is in our charts. The lessons can be major or minor. It can be counted as Karma. If we didn't learn it in the last life, or earlier in this life, here it is again. Also as Saturn, the restrictor, is on the expansive sign of Sagittarius, some things may come to a halt. It means that whatever we are doing needs to be looked at, to be sure it is what we want or that it will work. Are you willing to slog through hurdles for a payoff when it ends?
Neptune goes retrograde on June
14th until November 11th. Neptune is the strangest of the planets and
the retrogrades. I call Neptune the planet of the weird. Where it is and
while direct, there is vagueness, deception, either by others or
deceiving self. When it goes retrograde, truths come out. People are
more inclined to listen to truth. While retrograde people tend to be
more intuitive and to focus more on bringing dreams into reality. It is retrograde 150 days out of each year.
Uranus
will go retrograde on August 3rd in Aries. It stays there until
January. It needs to be looked at as to what house it is in in your
natal chart to see how it will affect you.

Pluto went retrograde on April 20th. Pluto
is an interesting planet if you can call it that. Some say yes, some
say no. I call it the dirty little ice ball with delusions of grandeur. Pluto gets more power than it should for such a dinky little whatever it is! Where
it is in the chart, and how it is aspected, indicates where a person
has control issues. When it is retrograde this intensifies. And since
it is retrograde for about half the year, every year, it is something
that should be looked at in the chart. You will often read it is about
transformation and how it will help achieve a higher consciousness. This
is true, but first we must let go of the control issue. We cannot
control another, we can only guide and be a good example. Situations can
seem to be controlled, but we still get blindsided. The Full Moon is a time of completion. Look for the energy to get rid of bad habit and to let go of the past and complete projects in the next two weeks.
The New Moon is a time of new beginnings and the next two weeks are good for bringing in the energy for moving forward with life. This is a time to start new projects.
The New Moon and the Full Moon's can give indications of things happening in you chart. Check where it is in your chart for guidance. With Eclipses it can have lasting effects.

We have put the honey supers on the hive at the beginning of July We are doing the jar method. They make the honey directly into jars!
I have talked to people who are terrified of bees. Don't be.They are non aggressive unless threatened. If you find yourself near a bee or one in your car etc, do not freak. Just hold still or don't make sudden movements and whatever you do, don't wave your arms around :) They die if they sting so are not invested in stinging. Wasps are another issue. I have been sitting by the beehive surrounded by bees and watching them on the flowers. It is fascinating. they even clean their little faces with their front arms.
The
baby wrens have flown. The hawk now lives down the block. He is driving
me nuts. He is getting birds all over the neighborhood. He is beautiful
and I suppose he needs to eat. On a good note ( I suppose) the
explosion of bunny rabbits had reduced.
This
August there will be a total eclipse across the Northern Hemisphere.
Here in Denver we will see a 90% eclipse. With much preplanning going
back two years, I have a room at a motel in Glenrock, Wyoming where it
will be dark for a total for 2 minutes and 26 seconds. Going to take a
mini
vacation, leave my sister to take care of things and go! It looks like
the party of the century. There is a festival going on with it. If it
rains or is cloudy, I will be in the middle of the world's largest
international pity party!
Take
a moment to
appreciate

how to have

the time to
make those
memories for
later. Tell
your loved
ones you love
them. Life is
short and we need to appreciate it even when there are challenges and
not let them overwhelm us. Don't let fear keep you from having a good
time with life. Work your job and don't forget to play and be happy.
When things go wrong just see them as glitches and move on.
When you have a moment, make a list of all your blessings. All the good things in your life. It is so easy to dwell on the negative. Smile. Smiling can actually change your mood for the positive.
